Biography  |  Neli Moody

Neli Moody is a writer and a lecturer at San José State University. She received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from San José State in 2006. She won the Phelan Award for poetry in 1987, 2004 and 2005. In 2005, she won the Virginia de Araujo Award, administered by the Academy of American Poets. She won the faculty-nominated Dorrit Sibley Award for outstanding creative achievement in 2005. In 2006, she won the Marjorie Folendorf award for outstanding achievement in creative writing. She is a resident of Santa Cruz and has served as Coordinator of Volunteers for Shakespeare Santa Cruz for five years.
