Third Thursday is a monthly poetry program in partnership with Poetry Center San José and hosted by Mighty Mike McGee (most of the time!)
Willow Glen Public Library, 1157 Minnesota Ave, San José, 95125.
Sign up for the open mic begins at 6:30pm. Open mic begins shortly after 7pm. Featured poet performs after 7–8 poets in the open mic, followed by an intermission.
Sharing snacks is emphatically welcomed!

Our featured poet is Manuel Ávalos!
Manuel Ávalos is a poet, musician, and leatherworker from San José, CA. His poetry focuses on themes of death, generational trauma, and the supernatural. While a student at Brown University, he participated in the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational as a two-time semifinalist (2017 and 2019) and was featured on the final stage in 2017. His work may be found on Button Poetry’s YouTube channel.
